1) The Psychoanalytic Perspective
Now let's get into the business.
The Psychoanalytic Perspective of personality, rooted in Freud's ideas, focuses on how our unconscious mind, childhood experiences, and inner conflicts shape who we are.
🗒 Here's the first concept :
Structure of Personality : ID, Ego, Superego
Today, we're talking about ID.
What is ID?
Think of it as your inner child. The most primitive storehouse of our biological energy. It operates on pleasure principle and demands immediate gratification of desires. ID operates on 2 energies, Libido which is the sexual energy and Thanatos which is the destructive energy.
So for example, a guy who is under the control of ID and if he likes a girl, he would either compel to that girl to like him back (Libido) or it could be a one-sided affair or if she does not like him then he could indulge into any other unacceptable behaviour (Thanatos).
A great example of an individual under the control of ID is ALAUDDIN KHILJI.
Khilji is ruled by intense desires for conquest, power, and lust. His actions in the movie are dominated by a primal urge to possess what he can't have. Not getting instant gratification led him to disregard moral codes and indulging in cruelty and boisterous ambitions.
Or say, Jethalal from TMKOC is an example of an individual often seen ruled by his ID. Jethalal is impulsive and desires for instant gratification. His tendency to find shortcuts without always thinking about consequences is a strong indication of someone led by ID.
I hope this has provided you with a little insight and I hope you enjoyed reading :)
